Cloud Creek Kennels
AKC Registered German Wirehaired Pointers

Ridge Spring, SC. USA
I purchased my first Wirehairs in 1968 from an army colonel who had brought his kennel stock home with him from Germany. A male, named Champ, and a female named Jenny a few months later. They produced one litter in 1971 and I kept a puppy, Sue. She was my loving hunting companion until she died in ’81. At that time Wirehairs were difficult to find in South Carolina and the bobwhite quail population was rapidly declining, so after Sue died I tried a few Chesapeake Bay Retrievers for duck hunting. The Chessies were great water dogs, but they did not have the right personality for me. After my Chessies passed I went without a sporting companion for several years.
I finally decided that I had to have another dog, so Robin and I spent a while discussing breeds. It was really a simple decision though. The best dogs that I had ever owned were Wirehairs. A business associate in Washington state suggested that I check out Inverness Kennels. Shortly afterwards I purchased a new Wirehair, Bailey, D Webbs Bailey of Inverness, in 2002. After hunting with many different breeds I’ve found that Wirehairs are the best all-around, hardworking hunting dogs.
Our goal here at Cloud Creek Kennels is to breed intelligent, hard working hunting dogs that can go to the show ring and perform and also be gentle with children.
We are located in a very rural area of South Carolina with plenty of space for our dogs to exercise and swim. You’re welcome to visit by appointment.
The site is still coming online. We appreciate your patience with our appearance.
